Ongoing Service Opportunity and Community Resource

We are currently putting together a very exciting outreach event to help support Galveston County’s ongoing recovery efforts!  Even though it has been nearly a year since Hurricane Ike hit the island, both Galveston Island and surrounding areas have thousands of families that are still displaced.  As well as homeowners, many community organizations, schools and churches are still in need of restoration. 

We will be partnering with KSBJ and the Help4Galveston ministry as we lovingly serve and assist our neighbors.  This event is open to everyone and we greatly encourage you and for you to encourage those you know, to be a part of this exciting event.  It will be a wonderful time of coming together and showing Christ’s love as we give of ourselves and serve those in need.  We will be discussing further details (including setting two dates for two separate events) at our Missions Team Meetings and are always open to any suggestions or ideas that you may have.  Thanks and have a blessed day!  


Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities: 

WHAM: West Houston Assistance Ministry operates a food pantry and a second-hand store to provide services for those in need in West Houston.

 

Please also know that volunteers are needed for our WHAM outreach:

Second Blessing clothing store on Saturday, August 22nd and Saturday, September 26th from 9:00am – 12:00pm.  The store is located at 3100 Rogerdale Rd. – 713-780-2727.  Please contact Liz Rose Ouedraogo at if you would like to be a part of this wonderful outreach. - Liz Rose 281-236-3144.

 
We are collecting Clothing and Food donations each Sunday.

Thurs Missions MTG  

Important meeting to schedule projects for remainder of 2009.

Both meetings will be held at the La Madeline’s restaurant near Beltway 8 and I-10 (770 W Sam Houston Pkwy N - 713-465-7370).  We look forward to seeing you there!
