PASTOR ROBERT G. JOHNSON

 

Currently serving as Lead Pastor of New World Church, a new church plant of the Texas Conference.

Ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church for 12 years. 

Served as an associate pastor of  the 15,000 member Windsor Village United Methodist Church in Houston, TX, from June 1997 – May of 2007. 

Serves as the Chief Strategist for the eCHURCH Initiative of Windsor Village UMC, which purposes to develop and empower effective leadership and vital faith in both the church and the marketplace.

Previously served as a monthly columnist for REV® Magazine, a national publication for pastors and professional church staff

Serves on the Advisory Committee for the Office of the Chaplaincy, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas.

Serves on the Board of Technomerica - a non-profit agency that creates technology centers in underserved and disadvantaged communities.

Served for 8 years on the Texas Conference Board of Ordained Ministry

1993 – 1997 Served as pastor of Disciples United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas.  

1994 – 1995   Served as Director of the Wesley Foundation at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas.

1994 – Magna Cum Laude Graduate of Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University, Masters of Divinity Degree.

1988 - Graduate of the University Of Southern Mississippi, with a B.S. Degree in Psychology, and a minor in Philosophy and Religion

Married for 18 years to Linda Y. Johnson. Two daughters: Kimberly Giselle and Kayla Gabrielle.
