NEW WORLD BELIEFS

The first and most important truth that we can know is that God loves us.
We believe that God's Love is the starting point for understanding God, history, the Bible, and all reality.
We believe that God has shown - and continues to show - Himself to people, but still, God cannot be "boxed in" by our understanding and experience, and so God is always a tremendous mystery.
We believe that God has given us the Bible as the primary tool for understanding His purposes and plans for human beings and all of creation.
We believe in the Bible's account of the failure of human beings to live community with God and each other.
We believe that history is basically the story of God's relentless pursuit to love creation and bring all of creation back into relationship and community with Himself.
We believe the first step to our best possible life is to say "YES" to God's reach and love for us.
We believe that Jesus came to model the life that God planned for all human beings, to give the ultimate expression of God's love for us, and to provide "the way" for us to re-connect with God.
We believe that God raised Jesus from death and the grave, and we believe that this Ressurection is our proof of God's - and ultimately, our own - victory over death and sin.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is God invisibly with us, calling us, leading us, guiding us, protecting us, convciting us, and doing all the things that will bring us into the Divine community.
We believe that the Kingdom of God is the goal of history and is essentially the community of God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit), human beings, and all of creation.
We believe that eternal life is a quality of life that is available to us here and now.
We believe in the sacredness and holiness of all creation and of every human being.  We believe that every human being has value and is loved by God.  We believe that the greatest thing to know about human beings is not our sin but our potential.
We believe that the Church is God's community on earth where people can find forgiveness, hope, acceptance, love, and relationship.  The Church is not a gathering of perfect people; rather, it is a community of people who are learning, together, how to live in humility, service, forgiveness, accountability, joy, and mission.
