MISSION & VISION
MISSION STATEMENT
To bring new people into the Kingdom of God by modeling Kingdom Life and by presenting Jesus Christ, especially to people living and working in West Houston and to the 4.6 million people in Greater Houston who currently stay away from church on Sundays.
VISION STATEMENT
- To be the spiritual, social, relational, intellectual, recreational, and cultural hub (gathering place, heart, center, focal point) of west Houston where people encounter Jesus Christ and experience, learn about, practice, and get empowered for Kingdom-Living.
- To be a mission station in West Houston where people come to be equipped to go out and change the world.
FUNDAMENTAL ASSUMPTIONS
- We are on a journey, together. What matters is our community and our family, not individual knowledge or expertise.
- Unconditional Love is the uncompromising gift that is given to every person with whom we connect.
- Faith is not a science. God is mystery. The Holy Spirit gives revelation.
- It is okay to not be okay when you connect with our family. What matters is that we all work together to get better.
- The measure of Christian maturity is love expressed in mission and service.
- Truth is not a statement; truth is a Person (Jesus Christ) and truth is experienced in relationship (with God and with others).
- You don't have to be perfect to be a saint! Saintliness is measured by your ability to rejoice, serve, and live contently in the grace and love of God.
= The first step to discipleship is dying to yourself. The first step to life is to trust God with your life.
- We know very little about the fullness of our God. So, we remain open to new revelations and experiences through the Holy Spirit!
